PSSA Science Challenge

Students in Miss Ditchey's fourth grade science classes have worked very hard throughout this school year preparing for the annual fourth grade Science PSSA exams. Students competed in a review challenge to gain the right to represent their class in Science Jeopardy. Students in each class answered questions based on the 4th grade science anchors learned in class. Mr. Ahrensfield's class, represented by Grace Menko, Damon Dowkus, Michael Bucher and Makayla Okgronglis, won the competition. Pictured are all this year's participants.

Math A Thon Raises Over Six Thousand for Kids at St. Jude

Students from kindergarten through sixth grade at Mount Camel Area Elementary School participated in a Math-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The one hundred twelve students that took part in this event raised $6,056 to help St. Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood catastrophic diseases, primarily cancer. The hospital’s operating costs are primarily paid by public contributions such as the funds collected from the Math-A-Thon. The Math-A-Thon was coordinated by Ana Ditchey with the help of Jolene Scicchitano, Stefanie Samelko, Lori Heath, Rita Boyer, Karen McCracken and Amy Hager.
