Notice of Intent to seek Back-End Referendum Exceptions - Notice is hereby given that the Mount Carmel Area School District intends to seek approval from the PA Department of Education or the local Court of Common Pleas for referendum exceptions allowed under Act 1 of Special Session 2006. If the exception application is approved, the funds generated by the tax increase may be used by the school district to balance its preliminary and final budgets. The school district’s preliminary budget is available for public inspection at the district office located in the Mount Carmel Area Jr/Sr High School, 600 West Fifth Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851.

Project T.I.E.S - (Teens in Innovative Educational Structures) is a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant program funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The T.I.E.S. afterschool program is open to all students in grades 7-12 in the Mount Carmel and Shamokin Area School Districts. Snacks and transportation are provided.

Residence Certificate Form- As a required part of the Pennsylvania Act 32, effective January 1, 2012, employers are now required to obtain from every employee a certification of their place of residence and the correct rate due. Attached to this e-mail is the Residency Certification Form. The form will need to be completed by all existing and new employees. The form will also need to be updated any time an employee moves.

College Visits - Universities and college representatives will be visiting Mount Carmel Area High School during lunch periods this school year. Tables will be set up ouside the cafeteria. Students are asked to sign in when visiting with college representatives. A listing of the visiting college recruiters is availabe here.

Anthony V. Miscavige Scholarship - Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Schuylkill who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success.  First preference shall be given to students from Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
