Mount Carmel Area School District will continue to communicate with our learning community using real time updated information concerning COVID 19 positive cases both within our school district buildings and in our local community.  Real time information can be found in the attached Google Doc moving forward. The Mount Carmel Area School District will immediately communicate with families, students, teachers, and staff members if they could be possibly considered a close contact related to any COVID-19 positive incident.  As always, our school district will continue to work with our nursing department and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to provide the most up-to-date information as possible.

Daily Attendance

Proceed to the form to record your daily attendance.

Form must be completed by all MCA (synchronous, or asynchronous) Virtual Learners in 7th to 12th grade daily between 12:01am and 11:59pm.

Reminder for in person students: You still must contact the attendance office at 570 339-1500 (ext 3134) if you will not be present on a particular school day. This call should be completed by 9am.

Student Achievement

Students manage assignments and grades
by logging in to the CSIU Student Information System.  Parents are required to do a one-time registration to gain access to all student assignments and grades on the CSIU Parent Portal.

Virtual Lunch Pick-up

Students who are virtual may pick up breakfast and lunch for two days on  Monday November 23rd, Tuesday December 1st, and Thursday December 3rd.  Meals may be picked up at the following times and locations:

Safe2Say Something

Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. For more information about the program:

Tornado Buddy Bag Program

The Mount Carmel Area School District continues to spearhead a fundraising campaign in an attempt to help fund the “Tornado Buddy Bag” program for the 2020-2021 school year. Find out more information and how you can help MCA students succeed.

The Mount Carmel Area School District has begun a Red Tornado Legacy Brick Project at the MCA Silver Bowl. All proceeds will go to the general upkeep of the stadium. The next order due date is May 1, 2020.

Revitalize the Planetarium

The foundation has set a goal to raise the necessary funds to repair or replace the planetarium in the Mount Carmel Area High School.   If you would like to donate to the cause or any other of our current initiatives, you can do so on our donate page.  Please indicate for what project you would like your donation to be used.

Silver Bowl Turf Project

In the spring of 2019, Mount Carmel Area School District launched an unprecedented three-year fundraising initiative — to raise $ 1 million to restore and update Mount Carmel Area’s famed Silver Bowl Stadium. The main fundraising effort will go towards the installation of a new all-weather field.
