Students manage assignments and grades
by logging in to the CSIU Student Information System.  Parents are required to do a one-time registration to gain access to all student assignments and grades on the CSIU Parent Portal.


5-22-20 – The Silver Bowl will be open beginning today for all those interested in using the track. Bathrooms will be closed, and all are reminded to follow social distancing while using the facility, and to not touch any surfaces.

Student Locker clean-out for grades 7 to 12 will begin on Tuesday, May 26th. Due to specific Pennsylvania and CDC guidelines, we must follow certain protocols during this process. We cannot allow more than 25 people in our building at any one time. Students will be allowed to enter the building to clean out their lockers but must wear masks. No parents or guardians will be allowed to enter the building. Please check out our main website for specific times and dates for each grade.

5-20-20 – Mount Carmel Area School District’s May School Board meeting will be held at approximately 8:00 pm on May 21, 2020. The meeting will be conducted virtually. The public may view and make public comments by joining the Zoom webinar. Registration to participate via Zoom can be done at:

5-15-20Locker Clean-out Information

5-14-20 – Students should check their school email accounts for a message from Mrs. Nestico. This email contains important information regarding senior assessments, caps and gowns, and graduation events.

5-10-20 – Beginning Monday, May 11th, STAR PHYSICAL THERAPY will be accepting MCA Athletes for any sports related injuries, or medical problems. Any student who is participating or will be participating in scholastic athletics in either JRHI or H/S for the upcoming school year who has any of the above concerns must call STAR at 570-373-3300 prior to arriving at their facility. Upon contacting STAR they will undergo a phone evaluation by a STAR staff member, which at the conclusion, a determination will be made, if treatment can be done at home or they will be required to come into the facility. If an athlete needs to be seen at STAR, they will be given an appointment specifying a date and time. They will be required to report at that time and follow all protocols that STAR requires to be on their premises.  STAR is open only for therapy-related services.  The gym section is closed for use.

5-5-20 – MCA students will have an opportunity to participate in Think Big’s 2020 “Virtual Prom” fundraiser. Please note that this a regional event with many other high schools – it is not MCA’s Prom. We ware planning a live event for just our students in addition to this event. Here is a link to the event – please participate! You will have a chance to show your school spirit and raise some money for the fight against pediatric cancer. Let’s go MCA!

How to Log-in to Teacher Websites
     Log in to your school email account.  Your default password is your student ID number.  You are required to change it the first time you log in.  You can find the links and codes to your classes on the School Closure Resource Site  or you can contact your teacher to add/invite you directly.

MCA School Closure Resources – Gd. 7-12

4-22-20 – The Class of 2023’s Rohrbach’s fundraiser will be available for pickup on Thursday, April 23rd in the high school parking lot. The pick up time will be from 4pm- 7pm. If you are unable to make it to the pickup please contact class advisors Miss Danilowicz or Mr. Monger.

4-20-20 – Reminder that, beginning today, MCASD will begin M-W-F only lunch and next day breakfast distribution. Children will still get meals for everyday, but they will only be distributed M-W-F. Members of the administration will continue delivering, and food service workers will continue distribution at MCAES.

4-10-20 – With Governor Wolf’s declaration that schools are now closed until the end of the academic year, we know you have many questions – continuing our students’ education, the Prom, Class Night, Graduation, National Honor Society Inductions, sports, the School Musical- the list goes on and on. Please understand that we are working hard to do the best we can for our students, and we will have information coming soon.

3-31-20 – Service Electric Cablevision is now providing FREE INTERNET SERVICE for 90 days to all students & teachers who do not already subscribe to SECV Internet or have not had the service within the last 60 days. Call SECV at 877-955-7328 for more details.

3-27-20 – Our administration, faculty, and staff have been meeting virtually over the course of the last few weeks, and we are continuing with plans to provide continuity of education for all of our students. Mount Carmel Area faculty, aides, and support staff will continue to provide Review and Enrichment activities during the closure, and teachers and aides will be available to work with students and answer questions online, via email, and on the phone whenever possible. Please check the District’s website and individual teachers’ sites for updated information. If anyone does not have access to online resources, paper copies can be made available for you – just contact your Principal, the Special Education Department, or call the school at 570-339-1500 and follow the prompts.

Hello MCA Students and Parents,

A few notes to think about while you are at home. Your teachers have been very busy creating Google Classrooms, and gathering materials to keep you busy. Check out our new webpage for tons of activities to keep you from being bored. All of these resources are completely optional. We hope that you will find them of value and keep your mind active. Lunch and Breakfast Information

MCASD began providing student lunches and breakfasts (breakfast for the following day), March 17. The meals can be picked up at the cafeteria lobby of Mount Carmel Area Elementary between the hours of 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.  Students must be present to get a meal, and all children that reside in the district qualify up to age 18. If the students are 18 years old, but they are an MCA student, they qualify, as well. Again, students must be present to get a meal.

Also, Buddy Bags will continue to be distributed every Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The pick up location for all Buddy Bags will be the main entrance of our Jr.-Sr. High School. Students are not permitted in the buildings to pick up items – if there is an emergency situation, please call the school.

Free school lunch & next-day breakfasts will continue M-W-F.  Monday and Wednesday lunches with be a double to cover non-delivery days.  We are expanding our delivery to surrounding communities at the following locations:

Van #1:

  • Marion Heights Fire Co: 10:30-10:45 am
  • Natalie Fire Co: 10:55-11:10 am
  • Atlas Gazebo: 11:20-11:35 am

Van #2:

  • Locust Gap Playground: 10:30-10:45 am
  • Kulpmont Holy Angels Church rear parking lot: 10:55-11:10 am
  • Strong Fire Co: 11:20-11:35 am

Mount Carmel Area Administrators will deliver the lunches to the surrounding communities.

The Kulpmont Sportsmen Association, in conjunction with the West End Fire Co., will continue to provide lunch to all students M-F at the West End Fire Co., 12:00 noon-1:00 pm. Buddy Bag distribution will continue every Friday. The bags will be distributed at the main entrance of the JSHS and at the West End Fire Co. in Kulpmont from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Tornado Buddy Bag Program

The Mount Carmel Area School District continues to spearhead a fundraising campaign in an attempt to help fund the “Tornado Buddy Bag” program for the 2020-2021 school year. Find out more information and how you can help MCA students succeed.

The Mount Carmel Area School District has begun a Red Tornado Legacy Brick Project at the MCA Silver Bowl. All proceeds will go to the general upkeep of the stadium. The next order due date is May 1, 2020.

Revitalize the Planetarium

The foundation has set a goal to raise the necessary funds to repair or replace the planetarium in the Mount Carmel Area High School.   If you would like to donate to the cause or any other of our current initiatives, you can do so on our donate page.  Please indicate for what project you would like your donation to be used.

Silver Bowl Turf Project

In the spring of 2019, Mount Carmel Area School District launched an unprecedented three-year fundraising initiative — to raise $ 1 million to restore and update Mount Carmel Area’s famed Silver Bowl Stadium. The main fundraising effort will go towards the installation of a new all-weather field.
