Students manage assignments and grades
by logging in to the CSIU Student Information System.  Parents are required to do a one-time registration to gain access to all student assignments and grades on the CSIU Parent Portal.

6-17-20   Summer Planning Presentation

Please check back for additional updates provided by the Office of the Superintendent during the summer months.
 
7-2-20 – Student Report Cards are posted on the parent portal in SIS. If any student would like a paper copy please contact the main principal office.
Summer lunch distribution will not be held this Friday, July 3rd and Monday, July 6th. We will be back to our regular schedule on Tuesday, July 7th. Tornado Buddy Bags will be distributed tomorrow, Thursday, July 2nd between 10:30am and 12:30 pm at the Junior-Senior High Main Office.
6-26-20Reopening of Sports Plan – June 2020
6-25-20 – The Mount Carmel Area School Board Meeting on Thursday, June 25th at 8 pm will be held in the LGL next to the auditorium.
 
6-9-20 – Mount Carmel Area will be offering sports physicals for the 2020-2021 school year on July 17 from 9 to 11 AM and on August 5 from 1 to 4 pm. Physicals will be conducted in the gymnasium and will follow all COVID-19 protocols. Additional information will be released on those protocols as we get closer to the events. Physicals will be performed by STAR PHYSICAL Therapy and Dr. Jeffery Greco at a cost of $20. Please be advised that these physicals are scheduled at the high school only as a convenience. Although every athlete must have a physical on an approved PIAA Form in order to participate in scholastic sports, they may choose any licensed physician and at a time of their choosing. Forms are available at the high school, from any head coach, or by accessing the PIAA or MCASD websites.
 

6-2-20 – A reminder that free school lunch continues for all children that reside in the district. Here is the schedule:

5-22-20 – The Silver Bowl will be open beginning today for all those interested in using the track. Bathrooms will be closed, and all are reminded to follow social distancing while using the facility, and to not touch any surfaces.

5-14-20 – Students should check their school email accounts for a message from Mrs. Nestico. This email contains important information regarding senior assessments, caps and gowns, and graduation events.

Please contact Mrs. Nestico or the HS Principal’s office with any questions.

5-10-20 – Beginning Monday, May 11th, STAR PHYSICAL THERAPY will be accepting MCA Athletes for any sports related injuries, or medical problems. Any student who is participating or will be participating in scholastic athletics in either JRHI or H/S for the upcoming school year who has any of the above concerns must call STAR at 570-373-3300 prior to arriving at their facility. Upon contacting STAR they will undergo a phone evaluation by a STAR staff member, which at the conclusion, a determination will be made, if treatment can be done at home or they will be required to come into the facility. If an athlete needs to be seen at STAR, they will be given an appointment specifying a date and time. They will be required to report at that time and follow all protocols that STAR requires to be on their premises.  STAR is open only for therapy-related services.  The gym section is closed for use.

How to Log-in to Teacher Websites
 
     Log in to your school email account.  Your default password is your student ID number.  You are required to change it the first time you log in.  You can find the links and codes to your classes on the School Closure Resource Site  or you can contact your teacher to add/invite you directly.

Summer Reading Requirements

All students are required to read one book and complete one assignment before they start school.  Finding the right book means reading becomes enjoyable, helps you to grow intellectually, and keeps your mind sharp. Select the book you want and you’re off to a new adventure that becomes your own.

The Census controls how much federal funding comes to our area, including to the Mount Carmel Area School District. It takes only a few minutes, but the impact is very important!

Tornado Buddy Bag Program

The Mount Carmel Area School District continues to spearhead a fundraising campaign in an attempt to help fund the “Tornado Buddy Bag” program for the 2020-2021 school year. Find out more information and how you can help MCA students succeed.

The Mount Carmel Area School District has begun a Red Tornado Legacy Brick Project at the MCA Silver Bowl. All proceeds will go to the general upkeep of the stadium. The next order due date is May 1, 2020.

Revitalize the Planetarium

The foundation has set a goal to raise the necessary funds to repair or replace the planetarium in the Mount Carmel Area High School.   If you would like to donate to the cause or any other of our current initiatives, you can do so on our donate page.  Please indicate for what project you would like your donation to be used.

Silver Bowl Turf Project

In the spring of 2019, Mount Carmel Area School District launched an unprecedented three-year fundraising initiative — to raise $ 1 million to restore and update Mount Carmel Area’s famed Silver Bowl Stadium. The main fundraising effort will go towards the installation of a new all-weather field.
