Student Achievement

Students manage assignments and grades
by logging in to the CSIU Student Information System.  Parents are required to do a one-time registration to gain access to all student assignments and grades on the CSIU Parent Portal.

Summer Lunch Schedule

Beginning June 14th until July 30th, breakfast and lunch for the summer will be distributed Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the following locations:  Entrance of main parking lot at the high school – 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.

Anyone 18 years of age or younger may receive a meal.  You will receive two days of meals on Monday and Wednesday and three days of meals on Friday.  Students participating in the ESY or the remediation program at the elementary school will receive three days of meals (breakfast and lunch on Tuesday and four days of meals on Thursday as they exit the building.

Summer Reading Requirements 2021-22

All students are required to read one book and complete one assignment before they start school.  Finding the right book means reading becomes enjoyable, helps you to grow intellectually, and keeps your mind sharp. Select the book you want and you’re off to a new adventure that becomes your own.

Daily Attendance

Form must be completed by all MCA (synchronous, or asynchronous) Virtual Learners in 7th to 12th grade daily between 12:01am and 11:59pm.

Safe2Say Something

Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. For more information about the program: https://www.safe2saypa.org/

CDC(Center for Disease Control & Prevention) Guidance

Universal and correct wearing of masks;

Modifying facilities to allow for physical distancing (e.g., use of cohorts/podding);

Handwashing and respiratory etiquette;

Cleaning and maintaining healthy facilities, including improving ventilation;

Contact tracing in combination with isolation and quarantine, in collaboration with State and local health departments;

Diagnostic and screening testing;

Efforts to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to school communities;


Mount Carmel Area School District will continue to communicate with our learning community using real time updated information concerning COVID 19 positive cases both within our school district buildings and in our local community.  Real time information can be found in the attached Google Doc moving forward. The Mount Carmel Area School District will immediately communicate with families, students, teachers, and staff members if they could be possibly considered a close contact related to any COVID-19 positive incident.  As always, our school district will continue to work with our nursing department and the Pennsylvania Department of Health to provide the most up-to-date information as possible.

Tornado Buddy Bag Program

The Mount Carmel Area School District continues to spearhead a fundraising campaign in an attempt to help fund the “Tornado Buddy Bag” program for the 2020-2021 school year. Find out more information and how you can help MCA students succeed.

The Mount Carmel Area School District has begun a Red Tornado Legacy Brick Project at the MCA Silver Bowl. All proceeds will go to the general upkeep of the stadium. The next order due date is  Oct 1, 2021.

Silver Bowl Turf Project

In the spring of 2019, Mount Carmel Area School District launched an unprecedented three-year fundraising initiative — to raise $ 1 million to restore and update Mount Carmel Area’s famed Silver Bowl Stadium. The main fundraising effort will go towards the installation of a new all-weather field.
