Rotary Donates Dictionaries to Third Grade
On Thursday, March 2, two members of the Mount Carmel Rotary presented Mount Carmel Area third graders with their own student dictionaries. Pamela Konopka, the president of the Mount Carmel Rotary, and Frank Sawicki, secretary of the Mount Carmel Rotary, dedicated the dictionaries on the day of Read Across America. Read Across America celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss and an awareness for reading. The third graders were encouraged to use their dictionaries at home, and to become life-long readers.
The dictionaries were provided by the Mount Carmel Rotary, as well as, other Rotary Chapters from other states. The students were excited to receive these gifts and want to thank the Mount Carmel Rotary for their generosity.
